Hi, I'm R. Shyvers, a self-taught infrastructure enthusiast based in Santa Clara County, CA. My homelab journey began after years of managing remote server deployments for a small community, seeking a space to experiment and learn.
When not tinkering with infrastructure, I'm planning new projects or exploring emerging technologies. While not every experiment succeeds, I always aim for maintainability and reliability in everything I build.
Land of Sharks is a collection of my experiences, learnings, and experiments. Every project here is a testament to my growth—I built it, it works, and here's what I learned.
This site is a prime example, evolving through external client experience. I built this iteration after working with ItalAi S.R.L., where my former boss from Cairns Health is the CEO.

Redesigned and implemented the website for Sandy Point 3, with ongoing maintenance focused on improving user experience, site performance, and ease of navigation.

Assisted ItalAI with dataset evaluation, website rebranding, and full implementation. Conducted earthquake analysis through dataset preparation, data analysis, visualization, and modeling. Designed and implemented the company site for ease of maintenance and static hosting, and applied SEO optimizations to combat search engine auto-correction.

Machine Learning and Operations Engineer

Played a key role in optimizing data processes and enhancing model performance. Trained data collectors on proper procedures while streamlining device setup for data collection. Executed data sanitization and restructuring to accommodate various data shapes for accurate predictions. Analyzed model performance and trained models to adapt to significant hardware differences. Launched a new data pipeline for a sensor, replacing an older model to boost data accuracy.
